P.M. Landscaping first opened its doors in 2008, built on the vision and determination of its founder, Paolo Manca. What started with a single truck, a few tools, and a dream has grown into one of the most respected landscaping companies in Monterey County.
Paolo’s story is one of courage and commitment. Originally from Sardinia, Italy—the second largest island in the Mediterranean, renowned for its pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes—Paolo developed a love for nature and design at a young age. As a teenager, he launched his first landscaping company on the island. But Sardinia’s seasonal, vacation-driven economy limited the growth of his business, and Paolo began to dream bigger.
In 2006, he immigrated to the United States to pursue new opportunities, with Monterey capturing his heart as a place where his skills and passion could thrive.
Like many entrepreneurs, Paolo started humbly. He worked for a small local landscaping company, took on odd jobs, and even served with the Sand City Police Department to deepen his ties to the community.
Yet his heart always returned to landscaping—the craft that connected him back to his roots. Soon, he began offering services to friends and neighbors, letting the quality of his work speak for itself. His reputation spread quickly, not just for excellence in landscaping but also for his generosity. Even in the early days, when resources were tight, Paolo dedicated his time and services to the Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County—a partnership that continues today, making P.M. Landscaping one of their strongest community supporters.
Seventeen years later, P.M. Landscaping has blossomed into a thriving business. When asked about the growth and success of his company, Paolo said “It’s more about the number of lives, families, and employees we support and how they support us.”
P.M. Landscaping now offers a wide array of specialized services, and a reputation for both innovation and integrity. Paolo’s dedication to craftsmanship and sustainable practices led to the creation of a full design division within the company. Inspired by his Italian heritage, his designs feature timeless Mediterranean influences, water-conscious planting, and a preference for native species that thrive in Monterey’s climate.

His work has been so well received that he brought on another full-time designer to meet growing demand.
Today, P.M. Landscaping offers far more than maintenance and design. Clients rely on the team for irrigation installation and water conservation management, large-field mowing, trash bin cleaning, storm cleanups, cart-to-curb valet services, and more.
Under Paolo’s leadership, the company continues to expand thoughtfully while holding fast to its founding principles: quality first, and community always.
